Little free Libraries

The Fruitport Education Foundation was proud to partner with the Muskegon County Read Early. Read Often. initiative to expand our focus on literacy with the placement of “Little Free Libraries” around the community. With help from the Fruitport Lions Club and students from Fruitport High School wood shop classes, “little libraries” were built, filled with books and placed throughout the Fruitport community allowing students and adults free access to books 24/7. Each small library contains a variety of books at many reading levels.

Studies show that reading everyday, everything, everywhere will lead to success in school and in life. Having books easily accessible and readily available in the community provides opportunities for both students and parents to Read Early. Read Often!
