5th Quarter fundraiser a huge success!
After a 2-year “covid” hiatus from social gatherings, the Fruitport Education Foundation was excited to bring back its annual 5th Quarter Fundraiser held on Friday, November 18 at the Trillium Events Center. Funds raised at the event provide FHS graduating seniors with scholarships, and support innovative classroom projects and programs through mini grant funding for staff.
What a memorable night and an incredible Trojan community! We were blown away by the generosity shown at the 5th Quarter event. To those who braved the weather conditions in support of our students, we are so very grateful. Congratulations to all the successful bidders who emptied the auction tables of 100's of items. The generosity shown during live auctions was unbelievable. Thank you, thank you! Money raised is already impacting classrooms as $6,000 was recently awarded to 29 staff members to support curriculum projects and instruction. A huge thank you to the many event sponsors, volunteers, and to Jeff Grossenbacher (and his brother, Greg) for emceeing the event. We could not have pulled off such an event without each and everyone of you.
The theme this year was "Decades" and the attire worn by guests did not disappoint. A great time was had by all. We are already looking forward to planning next year's event.

We aRe Fruitport Scholarship
Each year, the senior class raises money to help fund their end of year senior trip. Like most activities last year the Class of 2020 senior trip was canceled due to the pandemic. Students decided to turn lemons into lemonade and graciously donated a portion of the money they raised to the FEF. We are grateful for this gift and are so proud of our students for giving back to their school district.
As a tribute to the Class of 2020 the FEF will use this gift to award a scholarship to a 2021 FHS senior. In addition, we challenged the Class of 2021 to “pay it forward” by raising funds to do the same for the Class of 2022. The challenge was accepted!
It is our hope that this scholarship challenge will snowball and become a yearly student event. Senior class officers each year will be challenged to raise a minimum of $500 toward the new scholarship, named “We aRe Fruitport”, for the succeeding class. Criteria for application will focus on the three R’s - being respectful, resilient, and responsible while attending FHS. Have you exhibited the three R’s over the past four years?
“We aRe Fruitport” scholarship criteria and application will be developed with assistance from senior class officers, advisors and high school administration. The inaugural scholarship award will be presented to a member of the class of 2022.
